The Houston SPCA and Harris County Constable Precinct 1 are investigating two separate cases of animal cruelty after two dogs died from heat distress late yesterday evening in Northwest Houston and the other in Southeast Houston after they were both left outside in the sweltering heat with no access to water, food or shade. One of the dog’s body temperatures registered over 104 degrees at the scene.

The Houston SPCA and Harris County Constable Precinct 1 seized a German shepherd on Wednesday in a shocking case of physical abuse. Four dogs in North Houston near Airline Drive were rescued after the owner was caught on video strangling the helpless shepherd dog by the neck repeatedly. The Houston SPCA and Harris County Constable Precinct 1 also rescued a shepherd mix on May 11 from a Southeast Houston apartment complex after two videos caught the suspect repeatedly beating the dog.
