A Scene of Horror: Six Dogs Dead, Four More Rescued

Houston SPCA partnered with Harris County Constable Precinct 1 in an investigation involving six dead dogs piled inside a bin.

(March 25, 2025)

The Houston SPCA and Harris County Constable Precinct 1 have launched an investigation surrounding an atrocious case of cruelty. Six dogs were found dead inside a bin, discarded on a grassy lot along the 14,715 East Freeway service road. This semi-remote area was used as a dumping site, with several blankets and pillows carelessly thrown over the remains, a sickening attempt to conceal the crime.

While investigating the scene, officials discovered four dogs hiding underneath a nearby abandoned house. Frightened and vulnerable, they were rescued by our Animal Cruelty Investigators and are now receiving care from our veterinary team.

The remains of the six dogs are currently under examination at the Houston SPCA to determine the cause of death.

This act of cruelty is both horrific and intolerable. We implore anyone with information to come forward. If you saw anything suspicious or have details that could aid the investigation, please contact the Houston SPCA at 713-869-7722 or submit a report online at HoustonSPCA.org. Your voice could bring justice for these innocent animals.
