Each year, more than five million pets enter animal shelters in need of loving homes. Houston SPCA is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities® to bring adoptable pets to Houston area PetSmart stores in support of National Adoption Week, taking place November 7-13.
During the in-store event, Houston SPCA invites potential pet parents to meet adoptable pets in their area. Opportunities will be given to spend time with animals in need of loving homes in spacious areas. Staff and volunteers will help potential adopters learn about caring for a pet and the types of tools, products, and services they may need.
“We are thrilled to have connected over 700 cats this year so far with loving new families thanks to our partnership with PetSmart!” says Chief Animal Welfare & Medical Officer, Dr. Roberta Westbrook. “Houston SPCA is thankful for every extra adoption and we’re grateful for PetSmart for the extra facetime our felines can get with adopters in their stores.”

Sumi was adopted through our program with PetSmart Charities. Since being adopted by the Walker Family, Sumi has settled into her new home beautifully. She even befriended her furry housemate, Taco!
