An abused dog is in the care of the Houston SPCA today, after surveillance video captured the dog’s owner perpetually kicking, shoving and stomping on the two-year-old dog more than 23 times at a northwest Houston autobody shop located near Hollister Road and 249 earlier this week. He also tortured
the dog by repeatedly blasting water in her face with a pressure washer as she was restrained on a short chain.
The dog owner is also seen pouring ketchup, soap, and peroxide on the dog’s face,
where Houston SPCA veterinarians later discovered an eye injury they attribute to the
abuse. The civil seizure warrant served by Harris County Constable Precinct 1
included a cat who was also at the scene and is now in the care of the Houston SPCA.
Officials said the suspect will appear before a judge at a hearing on March 6. Animal
cruelty is a felony in Texas, punishable by a $10,000 fine and up to two years in prison.
The Houston SPCA’s 11-member animal cruelty investigations team rescues victims of animal
