You will have a dedicated fundraising team on hand to help with fundraising tips and ideas to help you reach your goal, as well as training plans! Read on to hear Sebastian, one of our Marathon runner’s training tips!
“I chose to run the Houston Marathon for the Houston SPCA as I felt it is an excellent way to give back to the ones that brought together Ada and myself,” said Sebastian, a team member representing the Houston SPCA in the marathon. Sebastian welcomed Ada into his home last Spring.
When asked how training is going, Sebastian mentioned he’s been somewhat consistent with the number of miles per week and overall distance. He also tries to focus on breathing, footwork, and proper recovery. He even brings Ada along for recovery walks! “The walks help Ada, and I bond as I love seeing her so happy before and after her walks. I’m sure she appreciates the outdoor time,” he said. “She deserves so much, and I try to include those weekly for her.”
The Chevron Houston Marathon Run is more than just a race; it celebrates unity, camaraderie, and determination. Join fellow animal lovers and passionate individuals rallying for a common cause.
“Take the risk and try something new! Especially when it comes to something greater than yourself,” said Sebastian. “Take the chance to be a part of a great cause!”
Special prizes will be up for grabs for top fundraisers, including limited edition Houston SPCA 100th Anniversary items!
