Houston SPCA Offers Discounts for Seniors 60+

Seniors can find their new best friend for $50 off — and get healthier and happier in the process.

Research confirms the health benefits of pet ownership for senior citizens. Pets provide unconditional love and companionship, and they can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure and increase social interaction and physical activity.

To help seniors find their perfect match, the Houston SPCA is offering seniors 60 years and over up to $50 off an adoption. The Houston SPCA is open for adoptions Monday through Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments are no longer necessary. Masks are required, and social distancing is encouraged.
