Emergency Rescue in North Houston: 10 Emaciated Dogs, 9 Puppies, and a Kitten

(December 13, 2022)

Houston SPCA Animal Cruelty Investigations team and Harris County Constable Precinct 1 conducted an emergency rescue for 10 emaciated dogs, nine puppies, and a kitten yesterday on Havner Lane in north Houston.

Several of the emaciated dogs were tethered by chains in the front yard of the property while the puppies, a kitten and remaining dogs were roaming free. All were lacking adequate food, water, or veterinary care.

Houston SPCA conducted an emergency rescue on this north Houston property.

All twenty animals were promptly removed from the property during the emergency rescue and are now receiving individualized medical treatment from Houston SPCA veterinary staff.

The owner could face up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine for animal cruelty.
