In the past 72 hours, our team has been on the front lines, working tirelessly to rescue 88 animals from deplorable conditions. Most of these animals—including malnourished horses, chained dogs, and neglected chickens—were left to fend for themselves, starving and thirsty.

With the swift actions of the Galveston Police Department, our cruelty investigators rescued 23 chicks, 26 roosters, 29 hens, and 56 eggs and brought them to safety at the Houston SPCA campus. In Houston, Harris County Precinct 1 and Cruelty Investigators saved four horses needing immediate medical attention due to malnourishment. A few hours later, that same team was in North Houston rescuing six dogs after they were found tethered outside with no shelter, food, or water nearby—one dog was even found underweight, tethered with a short, heavy chain.
Our dedicated veterinary team sprang into action, providing emergency care to these mistreated animals. But our mission is far from complete. We’re now working tirelessly to nurse these animals back to health alongside the hundreds already under our care, with more on the way.
We can’t do this alone. Your donation, whether it’s $10, $25, $50, or more, will make a tangible difference in the lives of these animals. Every dollar counts towards providing them with the essential care and support they urgently need. Please help save lives with a gift today.
