How It Works

The Houston SPCA’s Wildlife Center does not have a minimum weekly hour requirement. However, each volunteer must commit to at least six hours during a six-month period. All potential volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers must have consistent access to the internet and email to schedule their volunteer shifts and receive important volunteer updates.

Your volunteer application is processed through the Houston SPCA. Click the link below to begin the application process, which includes payment, background check (18 & up), application and orientation. Please note: The Houston SPCA’s Wildlife Center does not host training in October, November, December, or January.

Volunteer Opportunities

Direct Animal Care: Animal handling, food preparation, feeding, and cleaning.
